First Ever Field Trip!
In April 2024, our students had their first field trip experience by visiting a nearby play park for the day. What a great end to a successful first term. The children enjoyed carnival rides, VR games, a delightful lunch, and swimming! For most of them, this was their very first time to experience any of these fun filled activities. Thank you for giving!
KE Learning Center
More than a school
In 2021, we first met the families living on the Nakuru town dump site. Each day the more than 1,000 people living there pick through the trash deliveries for food they can eat and items they can use or sell. So far we have been able to bring fresh water, hot meals, food distribution like cabbages and unga (flour), the first toilets in the community, and the first solar lights to homes, pathways, and public areas. Together we are making Gioto a safer place to live for the children growing up there.
Our latest project has been birthed through a series of miracles. KE Learning Center is now here! We were given a letter of authorization by the Chief to begin with Pre-Primary 1 and 2 classes and offered a building in Gioto by the local Chairman and the District Council in which to operate the school. Our teachers, Moses, Jemimah, and Harriet, daily teach the children and inspire them to greatness. Our next step is to remodel an adjacent building in order to expand the school to include grades 1 and 2. Our expected costs for this expansion to include materials, labor, furnishings, and supplies is $6-7,000.
Vision Statement
KE Learning Center is a safe environment where the children of Gioto are exposed to the latest and most innovative education offered anywhere in the world today. The goal of our school is to instill a love for learning at an early age that will build healthy lives, strong families, and peaceful communities, for our great Kenya. With God's help, we will change the world, one child at a time.
How You Can Make a Difference
Thank you for joining the team that is partnering with the people of Gioto to improve life for the next generation. The monthly budget for each learning center is only $1500. This amount covers the staff salaries, school materials, and the food to prepare two hot meals daily during the school week.
Giving a one time gift ensures that KE Learning Center will be able to continue expanding through High School.
Partnering with us by pledging to give a recurring monthly amount enables KE Learning Center to fulfill the educational expectations for the most precious commodity of these needy families at Gioto … their children.
By sharing our story and our website, you are giving others a chance to make a great big difference with one very small step.
